What this means is that someone who is legally allowed to possess a firearm can conceal an unchambered firearm that requires to mechanical motions to fire. Currently the states that allow unrestricted carry are AK, AZ, AK, ID, IA, KS, KY, MO, MT, NH, OK, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, WV, & WY. Some states like ND & MI allow you to conceal carry but you have a duty to inform people that you are carrying.
It is still advised that people have a concealed carry permit. The concealed carry class promotes firearm safety and knowledge that every person who is legally allowed to possess a firearm should know. A concealed carry permit also streamlines mandatory background checks for purchasing a firearm.
Constitutional carry promotes public safety for many residents. Some residents feel that this law will contribute to firearm accidents.

I live in Texas where constitutional carry is a law. And while I am a complete 2A lover and supporter, I am not a fan of this law. I don’t feel safer knowing that the same people that can barely drive a vehicle or chew gum are allowed to carry a firearm. I am licensed in four states. I train continuously and practice faithfully. I shoot competitively in multiple disciplines. I don’t expect the average citizen do do all of these things and I firmly belive we all have the right to protect ourselves. However, this law allows casual gun owners the ability to do nothing, including mandatory safety training. I imagine many owners barely know how to load and operate their gun safely. Let alone do mag changes or stoppage clearing under any pressure. It is dangerous for them, myself, and my loved ones as well. Just my thoughts…
I live in Texas we have constutional carry but I keep my TCL license up to date have my own range behind my house and train 3 times weekly because this new const carry is honns have a lot of newbies that won’t train,so keeps me on my toes..
