Ever Wonder What The Top 10 Guns In Movie History Are?

As I watch movies, I try to identify what guns are being used. Sometimes I nail it and other times I must pause the movie and google it. So, this made me wonder “what are the top 10 guns used in movies?”. 

After doing a little research this is what I found:

  • Colt Single Action Army Revolver- The Colt Single Action Army Revolver, also know as the “Peacemaker,” has been featured in countless westerns and is one of the most recognizable guns in movie history.
  • M1911 Pistol- The M1911 is a semi-automatic pistol that has been featured in many action movies, including the James Bond series and Die Hard movies. 
  • Walther PPK Pistol- The Walther PPK is another pistol that has been featured in many James Bond movies, making it one of the most iconic guns in movie history.
  • AK-47- The AK-47 is a Soviet-designed rifle that has been featured in many action movies and is a symbol of revolutionary struggle in many countries.
  • M16 Rifle- The M16 is a military rifle that has been featured in many war movies, including Platoon and Full Metal Jacket. 
  • Beretta 92- The Beretta 92 is a semi-automatic pistol that has been featured in many action movies, including Lethal Weapon and Die Hard.
  • Winchester Model 1892- The Winchester Model 1892 lever-action rifle has been featured in many westerns and is a classic symbol of the American West. 
  • Heckler & Koch MP5- The Heckler & Koch MP5 is a submachine gun that has been featured in many action movies, including Die Hard and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. 
  • Desert Eagle- The Desert Eagle is a powerful handgun that has been featured in many action movies, including The Matrix and Snatch.
  • Colt M1917 Revolver- The Colt M1917 Revolver is a six-shot revolver that has been featured in many war movies, including Saving Private Ryan and Fury.

  1. It’s difficult getting my mindset into my firearms at the moment because I’m laying down on my couch in the quiet of my home all mellowed out and feeling like loose pudding listening to Sarah McLachlan.

    I stared at the firearm safes and vault trying to get myself in the mood to fire off something good here, but alas, it’s no use. I’m just too loosie-goosy at the moment. Maybe next time you’ll catch me in Ranger mode ready to go full Seal boat.

    S&W 4506—The Shield (old cop show)
    S&W Model 29 44mag blue—Dirty Harry
